Fire Risk Assessment in Scotland

I provide fire safety services in line with the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, associated Regulations and Scottish Government Guidance. The service included fire risk assessment, advise on fire systems, fire safety management, compliance with legislation, fire related Building Regulations, British Standards etc.
With 33 years of fire brigade service in fire safety and investigation, followed by 9 years work as a fire safety engineer in healthcare and with a national transportation company, I am experienced in resolving the issues that confront companies in what has become an increasingly complex area
I am a Graduate of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and on the IFE register of fire risk assessors. I am also a Member of the Institute of fire Safety Managers and an Associate of the National Association of Fire Officers.
I carry Profesional Indemnity Insurance with DAS Ltd, and do not share information on clients with any other company, unless specifically requested to do so.
Fire Safety Engineering
Fire Risk assessment entails a detailed examination of a building, what it is being used for, the people in it and how it is being managed. From this a record of the assessment is created in which the findings of the assessment are recorded. These findings are essentially a measure of how well the building, and the fire safety of its occupants, compares to the Scottish Government published guidance. The findings can then be used either as the basis for an action plan to address any non-compliance, or alternatvely to document compliance.
Principal areas of work include industrial, offices, shops, hotels & boarding houses. I also have the facility to carry out assessments under the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR).
The price of my services is dependent upon many factors such as the size, use and classification of the building. Pricing may involve an initial visit to discuss.
